Episode #49 Being Fat, Black, and Female in Australia

I’m chatting with one of my favourite indigenous creators in this episode: Alicia Johnson. Alicia’s work has been so incredibly valuable to me as I’ve transformed my relationship with my fat body, and we talk in depth about the intersectionality in her experience as a fat, black female in Australia. Please note that part of Alicia’s work is to reclaim the word ‘fat’ as simply a descriptor, without negative connotations attached to it. I intentionally use this word comfortably now, thanks to Alicia’s teachings.
