heliumTALK #38: Tina Ziegler - Moniker art Fair (english edition)

heliumTALK - das Kunstgespräch - Ein Podcast von Jörg Heikhaus, Melvin Heikhaus

Tina Ziegler is the director of the Moniker Art Fair, a very special one amongst the numerous fairs that are happening all around the world today. Moniker has been founded 10 years ago in London and in 2018 opened up in New York as well, where it will pop up again for the second time in May this year. Moniker is special because it has its roots deep in the Graffiti and Street Art Culture and is less fair and more festival, celebrating the youngest and fastest growing movement in contemporary art. Tina has developed her deep passion for Urban Art when she was a teenager in California, which is not too long ago for her, but the amount of art related work she has pulled off in her career since is impressive, insane actually when you look at all the gallery shows, curation and education projects she has been involved with or launched herself. Crazy. She also founded The Art Conference which combines keynote speakers from the worlds of technology and culture with contemporary exhibitions, discussing what’s going on the art market, so she is definitely not just looking at the colorful side of the business, but also on the business itself.
