021.The Great Divide: Politics Aren’t the Problem

This is a very special episode for me, because I have the privilege of sharing this dialogue with one of my closest friends, Rachel Johnson. Rachel is a water scientist, dancer, and empath. She is one of the most intelligent, compassionate, intuitive, strong-willed and loving people I have the pleasure of knowing and holding close to my heart. It just so happens that she and I are indeed on opposite ends of the political spectrum, and that our ideologies regarding all of the current popular headlines under that political umbrella are totally different. And guess what? We love one another unconditionally, regardless of our beliefs and worldview. It is the beauty of the connection we have that inspired us to share this episode with all of you. Our intention in this conversation is to illuminate how people of polar opposite political view can coexist in harmony, to talk about how these popular hot topics are curated by the higher-ups with the purpose to divide people like us, and the toxic consequence of what we call The Great Divide has on us at both a collective and individual level. We talk about how in all of this division, perpetuated by the topics that we have been encouraged to have a hyper-focus on over the past eighteen months, is ultimately a distraction from our purpose. And that's exactly the point. Because when we are distracted from our purpose -- which is to go inward and heal oneself, to resonate in unconditional love, truth, alignment, integrity & connection and to live out our dreams -- we are then emotionally captivated by the external world, and that creates the illusion OF purpose.. So we think we are doing the work by fighting others to see our point, to believe in the things we are passionate about, and in that fight is the unfortunate deployment of judgement, criticism, and even exile. But the "work" is done within. Healing is an inside job, and we have no right to infringe on someone else's process. The truth is, most of us have good intentions, despite whatever "side" you may be on, and so the goal is to stop seeing "sides" and to instead see a collective consciousness -- a whole humanity -- on the brink of ascension.
