Episode 1 - Carl Georigi | Platinum Dining Group

Considering himself a “lifer”, Carl found out as a teenager that he loved taking care of people and making them happy. He got his start at the Hyatt hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ in 1985 as a busboy when he was 16. Young, full of energy and ambition, yet naive and broke - Carl set a goal to have a restaurant by the time he was 30, and 1996 at the age of 29 he opened his own restaurant - Eclipse. Little did he know that when he opened Eclipse that it would lead him to Platinum Dining Group, a full service hospitality company that owns and operates 6 multi-concept restaurants, a full service special events/catering company and specialty retail markets in northern Delaware. Carl explains how social media outlets can serve a common good in the industry, even after he’s been stung a few times - don't ignore the reviews Carl explains, sift through them and make adjustments. “ I’m not interested in being right, I just want to get it right” mentality and keeping his ego out of the way paved a path to his success. Brian and Carl talk about his successful entrepreneurial leadership style - allowing his employees to feel empowered to make their own decisions and giving his team a sense of ownership is just one of the ways Carl gains success.
