We talk to Johan Audiffred about the legal requirement to assist people in need in the Netherlands. You are required to assist people in need and can be prosecuted if you do not. Expenses to the hospital are covered by the State. Expenses in the hospital are covered by the mandatory Health Insurance, which is provided by the state for those that can't afford it. Damages are covered by mandatory public liability insurance. As a citizen you do not need respect Do Not Resuscitate wishes, but medical professionals will.
