How cleaning our waters can be fun – with GreenKayak

Fritz for Future - Ein Podcast von Henkel AG & Co. KGaA - Mittwochs

We’ve all seen it before: trash polluting our canals and rivers. Unfortunately, it’s not a new phenomenon and each year tons of waste are eventually carried out to sea. Because most waste does not naturally decompose, these enormous amounts collect in our oceans and endanger animals and people nearby. In the end it comes down to us to not only be more conscious of how we dispose of our trash but also to collect waste from our waters when we can. But can picking up trash be fun? The answer is yes! In this episode, Janine talks to Tobias Weber-Andersen, co-founder of GreenKayak, about how you can easily do something beneficial for the environment while getting a good time out of it. Based in Copenhagen, the non-governmental organization aims to clear canals in various cities of plastic and other trash by offering free kayaking trips to those who are eager to contribute to cleaner waters.
