Ellay W is the moniker of Tāmaki Makaurau-based deejay and promoter Lee Whall. Lee runs the club night Phys Ed, which showcases unprocessed forward thinking dance music to the ears of the forward thinking unprocessed Tāmaki club kidz. As a deejay, he pursues minimal techno, and is in a constant tug of war between rough, audacious hammers and pulsing futuristic grooves. This session sits on the latter side of that spectrum, an array of varied science fiction techno music, spacious hypnotic bass drums and reverb drowned atmospheres, minimal leaning visions of the future and super speedy contemporary numbers utilizing exceptionally tight grooves to contrast the ethereal floataciousness of the melodies within.
