Making Mama Well with Dr. Pip Houghton

Parenting comes down to 2 things: your mental health and your parent-child relationship.  Mental health in motherhood takes a beating.  Isolation and shame is a breeding ground for mental health disorders.  Dr. Phillippa (Pip) Houghton is a family doctor on Vancouver Island, BC with a special interest in perinatal mental health. She is a mama to two boys and passionate about normalizing the motherhood experience, the good, the hard, and everything in between. In this episode, we cover the *red flags* to look out for, what keeps moms from seeking help for their mental health, and how we DON'T have to sugarcoat our bad days.  The more comfortable we get in saying out loud "this stuff is hard" or "I don't always love the work of motherhood, even though I love my babies" the easier it will be for us to come together and support each other.// CONNECT WITH DR.
