Podcat 172: Q&A
The Berne Podcast with Dr. Sam Berne - Ein Podcast von Dr. Sam Berne - Holistic Eye Health

In this episode, I work with a patient via telemedicine and we talked about the 15%, MSM, and the two ways you can apply it. Then I talked to her about her prescription. She went to another eye doctor who gave her a really strong prescription. Finally, we talk about the differences in eye exams between just doing it mechanically and doing it in a way where you include the eyes, the brain, and the body. It's a very interesting comparison. Hey everybody, it's Dr. Sam and in this episode, I give a bird's eye view with a patient we're doing telemedicine and I talked to her about the 15%, MSM and how to use it, there are two ways that you can apply it. And then I talked to her about her prescription that she went to another eye doctor who gave her a really strong prescription with astigmatism. Remember I call astigmatism a warp. And we talk about the differences in the eye exam between just doing it mechanically. or doing it in a way where you include the eyes, the brain, and the body. It's a very interesting comparison. So I hope you enjoy the show. Thanks for tuning in. There are two methods. One is called the high massage. And the second is called the eye bath. So the number one eye massage is done in this particular fashion, you wash your hands, make sure they're really clean, you have the bottle in your hand and you lie down on your back, so that you let gravity do the work in terms of aiming the eye drop in and towards the eye. So you're lying down, you open the bottle cap, and you put a drop or two in the corners of each eyes while the eyes remain closed. And while the eyes are closed, you then spread the drops along the eyelashes and you make spirals. massaging the MSM into the eyelids, both the upper lid and the lower lid. The massage is a very light massage. And when you use a spiral movement, that it's like a vortex, it's like higher energy. So you're putting more energy into the eyelids in that spiral movement. You can even do a humming sound while you do it, that would be the more advanced but that would amplify the MSM penetrating into the eyelids and then eventually into the eyes. And the reason why you're targeting the eyelids is because it's one of the most vulnerable places of the eyes, where we carry inflammation. And if we do carry inflammation in the eyelids, it's the place where the glands that produce the tears that coat the cornea and hydrate all the other eye tissues. And if you're developing something like cataracts, which we'll get to in a few minutes, cataract has to do with a frozen waterfall basically, that's the metaphor, the waterfall is not flowing anymore in the eye in the lens of the eye and the lens is made up of mostly protein material. And just to bring in another thing around the the protein in the lens. Glucose sometimes will bond to the protein molecule in the lens in this creates a very specific kind of cataract. And that's called the glycation process. Now, if that's the case, by doing this MSM massage of the 15%, you're starting to touch into that, that negative bonding of the glucose molecule to the protein molecule in the lens of the eye. Now that's the first method that you can use.
