The Berne Podcast with Dr. Sam Berne - Ein Podcast von Dr. Sam Berne - Holistic Eye Health

This episode answers questions related to optic nerve damage, bright color rays in vision, brain injuries, hyperbaric oxygen treatments, and what to do for eye health as it relates to reading. Question 1 0:48 - 7:39 My husband has optic nerve damage due to Thallium intoxication that occurred in May 2006. His vision blurs out after a certain distance, and he can not guess who is waving to him from far off. He is leading a normal life and does everything as he can to see things very near to him and read.   But nowadays his eyes are getting stressed after long hours of reading and working on the computer (he is a scientist). His eyes become red, and he gets severe headaches frequently now on one side of his head. He has also been diagnosed with iritis and is prescribed steroid eyedrops. I want to know if his optic nerve can be regenerated? Can we treat him naturally avoiding any steroids and pharmacological drugs? Question 2 7:39 - 11:00 My left eye randomly has a vision with bright color rays and lasts a few minutes. It has only happened three times in the last 2 years. My eye appointments are annual and they don’t find anything other than the nearsighted and astigmatism prescription which I have worn for decades. I was hoping you would be okay suggesting what I should be aware of or do. Thanks in advance! Question 3 11:00 - 16:14 I am a 17-year-old teenager who was formerly healthy until I received a closed brain injury in October. Ever since I have been going downhill and both my mom and the doctors don’t understand how sick I feel. I found you on brain recovery coach and like your holistic approach.  Can you give me some tips on how to get better? I believe your work can educate my parents and doctors on brain injuries. Question 4 16:14 - 19:21 I attended a lecture recently where the speaker was speaking highly of hyperbaric oxygen treatments. I am chemically sensitive and also have cataracts developing, a lot more rapidly in the right eye. I just received my eye drops and supplements from you yesterday and will start on them.  I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to try hyperbaric oxygen treatments or whether they stand a chance of worsening cataracts. Question 5 19:21 - 22:50 Dear Dr. Berne, I am 53-year-old female, practicing general dentist for over 13 years. I have worked 8-5pm Monday-Thursday for many years. Lately, I have noticed that by the time I am at home and ready to relax it is hard for me to read multiple pages of the actual book or a Kindle edition. At work, I am wearing loops of 2.5 magnification and using (UV (curing filling) light all day long. I have purchased your MSM drops and am using them every morning. Is there anything else that I should be using for my eyes to be able to enjoy reading again?
