The Berne Podcast with Dr. Sam Berne - Ein Podcast von Dr. Sam Berne - Holistic Eye Health

This episode answers questions related to retinal detachment, eye infections, nearsightedness, Usher syndrome, and blepharospasm. Question 1 2:55 - 10:45 Dear Dr. Berne: Do you have any information about recovering from surgery after a retinal detachment, I want to avoid the formation of cataracts from vitrectomy. And how do I dissolve pigment stuck behind retina? I have ordered eye drops and am curious if they may help with these situations. Question 2 10:45 - 15:12 The only way I can describe what is going on in my right eye is it is as if I somehow got an oily substance in my eye. I can barely see through it. I had an eye exam done but the eye doctor could not see anything. Would the MSM eye drops help with this? Question 3 15:12 - 21:44 I came across your podcast as I am looking to stabilize my nearsightedness. I have -8.0 and -8.5 lenses and only 41. At this point, I don't think I can improve my eyesight but I want to be able to stop dropping even lower. I read some books and am listening to your podcast trying to find natural ways to stabilize my vision. So, I started with a weaker prescription (-7.5, -7.25) and it is absolutely wonderful. My eyes are no longer tense and I even started to drive with these glasses. This is the best advice so far! I will start your recommended 90-day eye exercise soon. I noticed that my eyes focus better after eye massage or cardio workout. I wanted to ask a few questions. My eyes are super sensitive to sunlight. I practically have to wear sunglasses on a cloudy day. Do you have any supplement or exercise advice to reduce sun sensitivity? What causes eye sensitivity? And my second question is about prisms. My eye doctor put prisms in my last prescription as she tried to put reading and distance functions into one prescription. That last prescription took a big toll on my eyes increasing my blur.  Can prisms contribute to the problem? Thank you. Question 4 21:45 - 25:30 I read your Success Story on Sam C that he was born blind and now he has 20/20 vision. I have a son and a daughter born with Usher syndrome (the disease that they eventually lose their vision as days go by), now they are blind in their 40s, is there anyway you can help them regain their vision? I'd appreciate your response to this matter. Thanks Question 5 25:31 - 30:31 Dr. Sam, what do you know about blepharospasm and what recommendations might you have for me? I am currently on Botox shots that somewhat help me keep my eyes open, but it makes it complicated to blink all the way or close them tight during my sleep. For that reason, they often dry and tear. What do you recommend I do?  I am watching my diet and doing a liver cleanse, just wondering what else you might advise me to do? Thank you so much.
