Podcast 40: Community Q&A
The Berne Podcast with Dr. Sam Berne - Ein Podcast von Dr. Sam Berne - Holistic Eye Health

This episode answers questions related to nearsightedness, prescription lenses, releasing trauma, pinguecula, horror fusionis and double vision. Question 1 0:35 - 5:16 “I just listened to a recent episode in which you discuss the steps to heal nearsightedness. As an EFT practitioner, I especially appreciated step 2, where you ask people to assess what was going on in their life when they first got a prescription. We take this perspective in EFT (tapping) as well - by asking clients what was going on in the 3-12 months before a health decline or the appearance of an emotional problem. My question relates to eliminating nearsightedness. The steps seem to assume that you wear glasses. If one wears contacts, do you also ask for a prescription that's 20-25% less than what you have now? And rather than get a box of contacts for a year, do you ask for a 3-month supply? Or something else? Also, to complicate the matter, what do you do when you currently wear mono-vision contacts? Should I ask my doc to correct both eyes fully, but at 20-25% less than needed (e.g., so I'm 20/40)? I'd love to hear this on a future podcast! Thank you!” Question 2 5:16 - 8:42 “Today our 6-month-old granddaughter was diagnosed with nystagmus. Her parents were told that there was nothing that could be done. Have you experienced any luck with treatments for this condition?” Question 3 8:42 - 13:00 “To improve my balance, gait, (and recover from myriad other related symptoms) from a past concussion (horse fall), Lyme disease complicated by heavy metals, viruses, mold, glyphosate, presenting also with Parkinson’s symptoms. Debilitating fatigue, not relieved with sleep. I hoped your eye exercises would help in some way. When I wrote to you about a week ago about this you recommended the 90-day program. I also ordered your supplements you recommended. Another thing is I think I have emotional/past traumas that I’m trying to figure out how to release. Please comment on this. Thank you!!” Question 4 13:00 - 17:37 Dear Dr Sam: Firstly, a big thank you for making your work available to the world! Apart from giving really useful information, you give hope. Secondly, I have questions - far too many! - but here are a couple: I get a lot of 'gunk' in my left eye which clouds my vision no matter how many drops of MSM + silver I put in. Could this be related to the pinguecula I have in that eye? Also, I wonder if my eyesight is improving even though the blur/double vision seems to be getting worse. Is that possible? I don't want to delude myself! I can have moments - if I wait long enough - where I have, very briefly, 20/20 vision. It disappears as soon as I blink but it makes me feel that I might one day retrieve my vision if I knew how. I realize you may not have the time to answer these but I send them with huge gratitude anyway. And many blessings from Edinburgh, Scotland.” Question 5 17:39 - 19:44 I am 57 years old and started wearing glasses at 43 for reading. I now use that first pair of specs for distance. I have always had poor circulation and am currently being treated for various infections: EBV + various protozoan parasites. Can you offer any advice? Question 6 19:44 - 24:57 Hi Dr. Berne, I was diagnosed with Diplopia / Horror Fusionis. I have not had much hope seeing different specialists over the years. The double vision continues to get worse and worse for about 8 years now, making it difficult and almost unsafe to drive. Any insight on vision therapy or hope for Horror Fusionis? “
