The Berne Podcast with Dr. Sam Berne - Ein Podcast von Dr. Sam Berne - Holistic Eye Health

0:00 - 3:20 My husband and I recently listened to the WELLNESS MAMA podcast that featured Dr. Berne. We were both very interested what was discussed and were wondering if Dr. Berne and his office have any other optometrists that also follow a holistic approach to eye health that they would refer who practice near our area, Chesapeake, VA or near Akron, OH (where we frequently visit family). Thank you! 3:20 - 9:00 I learned about Dr. Berne from a blog with the Wellness Mama.  I have had a bad year with 'large' floaters and cataracts in my left eye and now recently with floaters and a very slight cataract in my stronger right eye.  I am nervous about trying the MSM drops and wondered if I should address the floaters first and foremost or work on cataracts. My 2 siblings have had cataracts and my 68 yr old brother was diagnosed with glaucoma when he was my age. My father had cataract surgery when he was 45 yrs old and had 3 detached retinas in his left eye by the time he was 75. 9:45 - 10:50 I was treated with Lasik in December 2017 and have an astigmatism. Can it be treated naturally? 10:50 - 17:04 What can be done for eye issues resulting from an occipital stroke? 17:04 - 19:36 My husband just had cataracts removed from both eyes, one in March, and the other in April.  He is three weeks down from the last operation. He had a detached retina 9 years ago and has struggled with glaucoma for the last 15 years. Overall the glaucoma operation successfully lowered eye pressure and his vision is good, but his eyes have become very dry. Would the MSM Eye Drops help lubricate his eyes without jeopardizing the various issues he is challenged within his eyes?  Thanks for considering these questions. 18:05 - 21:21 I have had astigmatism problems all my life due to the extreme football shape of my eyes. I had cataract surgery due to medication-induced cataracts and floater removal surgery due to sloughing of the interior of both eyes after cataract surgery. I have tri-focal glasses and I wear a prism which makes life better, but the multiple image vision from my eye shape makes seeing and reading very difficult. I use CBD oil to relax my brain so my brain doesn't shut down my right eye, and as an unexpected byproduct, my extreme dry eye has mostly resolved itself. I am very careful about keeping hydrated because that makes a huge difference in my vision. I do eye exercises that were given to me by a vision therapist and they really help as well ( I have since moved out of state and am on my own). I have switched over to a plant-based diet and nutritional supplements. I ordered your MSM drops and look forward to seeing what they do for me. Is there anything else I can do to reduce multiple images, or is this as good as it gets? 20:40 - 24:39 I was told by my eye doctor yesterday that I have Pterygium. What natural protocols would you recommend for this? 25:12 - 27:07 Hello, my daughter is 11 and was prescribed nearsighted glasses. What can I do to prevent nearsightedness?
