Hey folks, it's Dr. Sam and I received the question today, what do I think of the pharmaceutical drug Xalantin, better known as latanoprost. Well, this is a glaucoma medication. So those of you that are at risk of developing glaucoma or have been diagnosed with glaucoma might want to listen to this. So this particular drug helps with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma in bringing the pressure down. Now, it's a symptom approach. There are many side effects of this drug. Let me run through the list blurred vision, redness, burning, stinging inflammation of the eyelids, So, a lot of negative effects. And you know, quite frankly, in the long term, the drug doesn't work very well. So if you've been diagnosed with glaucoma or ocular hypertension, and your doctor has put you on this drug, here are six things that you can do to neutralize the glaucoma pattern. Now, this is in the natural, integrative complementary therapy category. Number one, I would eat a diet that's anti-inflammatory, mostly plant-based. Remember your fats and oils. This would include especially the omega-three fatty acids, they're really important for protecting the optic nerve, which is the most vulnerable part of the eye when you're diagnosed with glaucoma because you can begin to lose your peripheral vision. And omega three is one of those protectors. The second thing I would do is I would stimulate and increase your lymphatic health. I do this through cranial sacral therapy. I'm a cranial therapist I've actually seen eye pressures go down after cranial sessions. Another thing you could do is jump on a rebounder for five to 10 minutes a day which can also increase your lymphatic health and neutralize some of the glaucoma symptoms. Number three, I liked the herb Coleus this is something you can take internally Coleus has been found in some preliminary studies as an herbal remedy to bring down the eye pressure. Number four, I would use MS M eye drops with eye massage. MSM is wonderful for hydrating and moisturizing the eyes improving collagen health. Number five, I'd recommend wearing blue-blocking glasses. These are the blue-blocking filters for all screen time. This will also reduce visual stress. I think that's a biggie in increasing ocular health and reducing the glaucoma pattern. And number six, I would make sure you're getting the following nutrients for your eyes glutathione vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, your trace minerals like Selenium, chromium, and magnesium, so those are things that you could do. And then the extra list would be doing things like color therapy, and infrared light therapy.
