Opening weekend takeaways: Zags rally vs. Sparty; Emoni Bates goes off; 3 ranked teams upset: Vols, Nova, Oregon (College Basketball 11/13)

The first weekend of the college basketball season is done. So, what did we learn? Well, Gonzaga can win on an aircraft carrier, for one. (Michigan State is now 0-2 on huge ships.) Parrish and Norlander open on Friday night's big game, then turn their attention to Emoni Bates' huge game and near-win against Michigan. Three ranked teams were unseated over the weekend, too. Which was the most concerning: Nova falling to Temple, Oregon losing to UC Irvine or Tennessee getting run by Colorado? Norlander also has a whiparound of notable results, including some love for the SWAC. The guys close with a preview of Tuesday's slate, led by the Champions Classic. »Eye on College Basketball is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.    »Follow our team: @EyeonCBBPodcast @GaryParrishCBS @MattNorlander @Kyle_Boone @DavidWCobb @NataTheScribe   »You can listen to us on your smart speakers!
