Commodities Roundup: December 2012

Corn is the big story in the soft commodities market this month, with futures in the Chicago mercantile up 4%. Plenty of rain in Argentina means that the supply of cheap corn will weaken, and traders are quickly buying up the cheap corn supply now. Many of the other commodities remain unaffected in December due to traders holding out for more news regarding the "fiscal cliff" issue in the US.
