On the surface, wheat prices seemed to be stagnant in August. However, the USDA called for high crop prospects in Spain, France and Germany which lowered wheat prices. Freezing temperatures in Argentina and the subsequent crop loss raised prices and wheat futures leveled out going into September. Francisco Redruello, Senior Food Analyst at Euromonitor, also discusses corn, sugar, cocoa and skim milk powder in his monthly roundup of soft commodities.
