Dream Shakerz Weekly Shakedown 08-21-21

In this episode, we'll be connecting with Marvin Johnson, a serial entrepreneur and the current Founder / CEO of Dashible a platform that is currently oriented around making meaningful connections between consumers and small businesses within densely populated municipalities. During the show, Marvin discussed the benefits his time in the armed forces provided to his career in business, the lessons he learned as an integral member of the founding team of iKobo - which at one point had drawn the interest of Peter Thiel of PayPal as a worthy competitor to the soon to be payments giant, and how Dashible provided a lifeline to small businesses in NYC as they sought to navigate the numerous economic hurdles created by the pandemic.  We close out the episode with The Level-Up where we've provided yet another set of opportunities for BIPOC students interested in tech careers!-Product Marketing Ai Intern @ NvidiaInternship Location: Santa Clara, CALink: https://bit.ly/2WjvN5ISummer 2022 Program Manager Intern @ SalesforceProgram Locations: San Francisco, CALink: https://bit.ly/3sEvzSWSoftware Engineering Internship @ CruiseInternship Location: San Francisco, CALink: https://bit.ly/2UHEoyN-Dream Shakerz IGLink: https://www.instagram.com/dr3am_shakerz/Dream Shakerz YoutubeLink:https://bit.ly/3yX7toUDream Shakerz LinkedinLink:https://bit.ly/3gdBZnc

Om Podcasten

Welcome to the Dream Shakerz Podcast, our weekly show that covers technology, venture capital, and professional development from the vantage point of an ex-banker whose since switched to overseeing operations at a startup and a former management consultant whose in the midst of transitioning to graduate school to study human-computer interaction and design. As young black men, we realized that there was a void in regards to content creators who came from impoverished backgrounds but have also found success in professional spaces while staying true to who they are as people. We want to inform you, our audience, that your beginnings should not rule out certain career paths and that professional success doesn't necessarily mean you have to cut off all cultural ties. Given our success in plotting a course from public housing units in the Bronx to programs at Harvard, we believe we can effectively speak to this need.
