2019 Michigan Economic Outlook

On January 8, 2019, MEDC CEO Jeff Mason and Detroit Economic Growth Corporation President & CEO Kevin Johnson shared their thoughts on Michigan’s economy. Prior to the discussion, results of the 2019 Michigan Economic Outlook survey were unveiled.  Mason cited examples of how national publications are recognizing the greatly improved business climate in our state. “Site Selection magazine ranks Michigan number one in the Midwest and number five nationally in terms of places to do business.” For Detroit, Johnson says because the state and city’s business reputations are rapidly rising, now is the time to double down his organization’s efforts. “When the unemployment rate is low, we go out and try to bring as many opportunities to the community as we can.” You can view survey results here: www.outlooksurvey.com
