027 PAVING PATHS TO HEALING

On this episode, I sit down with Angela Rose of PAVE (Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment) to talk about thriving after trauma.  We discuss how, exactly, one takes an organization around a cause and turns it into legislation. We also talk about the strange way people react to sexual assault and how her organization is educating communities on how to treat survivors and prevent abuse. Why do we need many modalities of therapy to treat trauma? Why don't people believe victims? What do we mean when we say everything is political? Listen and find out. CW: We do not discuss assault details specifically, but we do speak candidly about abduction, and being retraumatized post-assault by callous and disbelieving detectives.
