In today’s episode of Cyber Monday, Christian & Dominic speak with Neil Belenkie. Neil is the CEO of $2,000 Coffee, the Co-Founder of Sploda.com and the Mayor of the Village of Belcarra. Neil breaks down the world of business & investing and gives a refreshingly authentic perspective on politics. Why are founders in need of raising capital often unsuccessful? - Neil explains that a founder needs to communicate to a funder how that funder is going to make money. A founder needs to explain to a funder why the opportunity isn’t risky. Investors invest in business opportunities, not ideas. You need to show investors how much money they will make, in what time frame, at what risk tolerance. Without this data an investor cannot complete their own investment diligence process. When looking for an experienced business advisor, what should business owners look for? - When it matters most, you go to the medical specialist to cure the people you love. In the same way, if you love your business, you should have the same standard and go to the experts who have solved that problem over and over. When it comes to cyber security, why would you want someone to be learning on your dime? - You bring in a specialist when it matters. Data is what gives many companies their value. But your data assets aren’t worth what you think they’re worth unless they’re properly protected. Cyber security due diligence is something that Neil recommends when evaluating a business or investment opportunity.
