"Oh the Worcester boys are happy..." with Jake Libby

County Cricket Natters - Ein Podcast von County Cricket Matters

Getting towards the business end of the County Championship Group stages now and the tables are tighter than anyone on our wall of shame. In Group One, Warwickshire thrashed Derbyshire to go top, while Durham bounced back from their defeat to Essex by hammering Worcestershire at New Road. Speaking of the Chelmsford outfit, their hopes of retaining their CC crown were dented by a rain-affected draw with Nottinghamshire. In Group Two,  Leicestershire made it back-to-back wins with victory over early front runners Gloucestershire, while Somerset and Hampshire played out an entertaining draw (well it was for three days anyway. And finally in Group Three,  Glamorgan claimed a vital victory over Lancashire, Yorkshire returned to winning ways late on day four against a youthful Sussex, and Kent and Northants were stymied by the rain. With us this week is the leading run scorer in county cricket since the start of 2020: Worcestershire's Jake Libby. More than 1,200 runs since he joined the club, at an average above 60. We talk to Jake about his early years in Cornwall, his time at Cardiff MCCU, breaking into the Notts side and his move south. Naturally, he takes on "The Quiz" and Dan gives us his usual insight into the history of Worcestershire. As ever, we are delighted to have you with us. Please do rate, share, tell your pals etc. Annie, Dan and Sam
