Hemodynamic monitoring in a critical care setting is very important to the individualized care of the patient. Using heartrate and blood pressure is not enough to determine patients preload, afterload and contractility needs. Utilizing hemodynamics of some sort (non-invasive, less – invasive) can really better outcomes in the critical care patient.
