In this episode of Connection Loop, we are going to take a deep dive into building a healthy remote work culture. This has become especially prevalent amidst Covid-19, but having a healthy remote work culture will be vital even after this global pandemic concludes. To discuss remote work cultures, Dubb founder Ruben Dua sat down with Brittinay Lenhart. Topics and insights discussed include the following: 360-degree feedback is a really important part of building a healthy remote work culture. Even though it takes time for everyone involved, having this type of in-depth feedback keeps employees on track, improves performance, and increases morale. There are some bosses out there that haven’t adapted well to remote work. Because they don’t feel like they have control anymore, they schedule many Zoom meetings and make sure that their employees constantly check-in. This is a poor way to create a healthy remote work culture. The fact that you can be contacted all the time doesn’t mean that managers should do so. Giving employees the autonomy and freedom to do their work will improve performance and the attitude of the entire organization. Having events called amnesty hours can be a great way to connect remote managers and employees. In these amnesty hours, have candid one-on-ones with your employees. Hash out any conflicts you may be having. It is a great way to get in sync and eliminate conflicts before they get to be too large. Recognize that mental health is even more critical today. Keeping your employees’ mental health at the top of mind will make them happier and increase their output when working remotely. Whether you have just started working remotely or have been remotely managing employees for some time, this is a great conversation for you.
