Trial Lawyer Jim Quinn on STL Rams & OAK Raiders Relocation Lawsuits

Conduct Detrimental: THE Sports Law Podcast - Ein Podcast von Conduct Detrimental

Our special guest this week is Sports Law Attorney Jim Quinn, one of the preeminent trial lawyers in the nation. In his 40+ years of practice, Jim has an incredible sports taw background including his representation of the players’ unions in all four of the major professional North American sports leagues. This includes a long history of fighting the NFL in Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations and, more recently, in a court of law in his representation of the City of Oakland in their lawsuit against the Raiders, the NFL, and every team owner. Jim joins the show (9:36-42:20) to talk about how his Oakland Raiders lawsuit compares and otherwise impacts the St. Louis Rams lawsuit, the NFL’s relocation policy, expert studies on the feasibility of further expansion (48 teams!), as well as the terms and conditions of a potential settlement.  Jim is a wealth of sports law knowledge and, notably, was a pioneer in shaping modern day free agency in sports. He shares his insights in his book, “Don't Be Afraid to Win: How Free Agency Changed the Business of Pro Sports” - available now on Amazon. *** Have a topic you want to write about?
