Ep. 10: The Philippines Part 1

Chocolate On The Road - Ein Podcast von Max Gandy

The Philippines is a huge market for cacao consumption, both historically and in present-day. But outside of the country, you don’t hear much about their market— a fact which is set to change really soon, and in a big way. Because across the islands, seeds have been planted, and they’re just about ready to bear fruit. In this episode, we talk to four people who are able to set this scene for us. They’ll dig into how, where, and what cacao is grown on the Philippines, and the complex set of factors which have put all of that in flux. In Part 2 of the Philippines story, we’ll explore the who and why of those shifts. To read the article version of this episode, click here.
