The story takes place on an alternate earth though the story of Christ is mostly the same save for the fact that He resurrected but that His corpse remains. This is very likely that because the author is Japanese he does not know the specifics of Christian theology. This made me wonder if the resurrection of the body requires the same earthly body that died.
