I sit down with 2017 US Junior Champion turned Instagram skating star Kaitlyn Nguyen about her promising skating career and the injuries that cut it short: when she started skating, the timeline of getting all her jumps, being on the Juvenile National podium to winning the Junior Championship, fracturing her back at age 14 followed by a multitude of other injuries, over-training and her comeback processes, her decision to step away from competitive skating, the flurry of guilt and other emotions associated with retiring so young, environment and mental health, how she's turned her passion of skating into coaching and her skating instagram account (@katwiththeskates), and the advice she'd give to current young athletes on the rise.
