Why is sewage ending up in our waterways?

Best of Today - Ein Podcast von BBC Radio 4

Last year, public anger rose over the amount of raw sewage entering our rivers. The government opposed a change the House of Lords wanted to the environment bill, but promised to strengthen action on water companies. As part of a series of reports, the BBC’s Climate Editor, Justin Rowlatt, explores how and why sewage is entering waterways. He first visits the River Test in Hampshire with musician and activist Feargal Sharkey, and then speaks to campaigners at the River Wye, which runs through South Herefordshire. Following that, Mishal Husain questions the conservative MP for that constituency, Jesse Norman.
