Professor Chris Whitty suggests scaling back socialising over Christmas

At the Downing Street press conference last night, Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty told people that over Christmas they should prioritise social interactions that mean the most to them. The warning came as the number of coronavirus cases reported on Wednesday reached the highest total seen in the pandemic.
