No fault divorce arrives in England and Wales

Best of Today - Ein Podcast von BBC Radio 4

Couples in England and Wales will be able to end their marriages more quickly without blaming each other. Until today, in order to start divorce proceedings immediately, one spouse had to allege fault. Now separating couples will only have to state that the marriage has broken down irretrievably. Martha Kearney spoke to Fiona Shackleton, Baroness Shackleton - who represented Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney in their divorces – about what the changes mean.
