Natasha Abrahart suicide: University discriminated against student

Best of Today - Ein Podcast von BBC Radio 4

Bristol University has been ordered to pay £50,000 in damages to the parents of a student who took her own life, after a senior judge ruled it had discriminated against her by failing to provide adequate support. Natasha Abrahart was 20 and a physics undergraduate who suffered from chronic social anxiety. She died a day before she was due to give an oral exam in front of teachers and fellow students in a lecture theatre. The university says that a range of options were offered to Natasha including not having to present on stage in front of her peers, or answer subsequent questions. It says it may appeal the judgement. Natasha’s parents Rob and Maggie Abrahart speak to Today’s Amol Rajan. (Image Credit: Natasha's family)
