The children's author Michael Rosen spoke to Martha Kearney about his experiences of 2020 and his recovery from a life threatening case of Covid-19. He spent 47 days on a ventilator after being admitted to hospital in March and was put into an induced coma. After the infection he had to undergo a long journey to rehabilitation, which involved learning to walk unaided again. When asked how the experience has changed him, he said: "Every day, there's a mental struggle, to come to terms with what happened to me, how I feel now and how I was before. I'm constantly running to and fro in my mind, I keep trying to set my mind at peace, and rest it, and find distractions." He added: "Some of it I think is almost like a bereavement, that I'm regretting the loss of the person I was." Credit: BBC
