#117: MICHAELA: THE BAREFOOT AUTISM WARRIORS WAY

Michaela has a unique story, in that she has an Asperger’s diagnosis herself, and a daughter with Autism. As a child, Michaela learned many healing strategies and modalities to help her overcome the debilitating symptoms that came with her diagnosis. When she was blessed with the birth of her daughter, she did not fear her daughter’s diagnosis of severe autism, but rather got to work, searching for ways to help her daughter heal from the many troubling and painful symptoms. Working with cutting edge healing modalities, such as earthing, tonic herbalism, bio individualised nutrition, nutrigenomics  and most importantly focusing on healing nature deficiency and trauma, her daughter went from being non verbal and severely impacted to thriving and being able to be discharged from all therapies.  However, their story took a drastic and unexpected turn. After a tragic family loss, Michaela was unfortunately encouraged to utilise prescriptive biomedical treatments ,which she now regrets and urges extreme caution with parents who are led into this trap. These treatments weakened her daughter’s immune system and went against the gentle yet potent healing power of returning to nature that had brought her daughter to a place where she was thriving. Michaela warns against how dangerous biomedical treatment is, in the wrong hands. As a result of these biomedical therapies, her daughter’s immune system was weakened. Michaela’s daughter was bitten by a deer tick whilst playing in the garden. What followed that event are nothing short of horrific. Her daughter developed Lyme disease, specifically neuroborreliosis and Lyme induced seizures. Her daughter lost all speech, motor skills and had up to 30 seizures a day, requiring intense rehabilitation and frequent hospitalisation. Two years into this hell, Michaela heard of Ninka’s podcast and was reminded of all the things she had used in the early days with her daughter. As she says, “Ninka really brought her FULL CIRCLE”. She worked through the Autism Mindset Course and within weeks, returned to homeschooling her daughter and going back into nature. Two years into this journey, her daughter is seizure free, medication free, no longer needs brain surgery and has regained all of her motor skills. She has regained receptive language and some expressive language after being told there was no hope and that the damage caused was too extensive. Michaela is still taking her daughter into the forest daily and utilising individualised therapies to gently heal and help her daughter reach peak health and expressive language skills. This story is nothing short of miraculous and a testimony to the Grace of God.Michaela is thankful to God every day for healing her daughter. She fully trusts in  ‘The Barefoot Autism Warrior’s Way’ and encourages those with children with Autism to view them as precious blessings, treat them with compassion, kindness and unconditional love. She understands the true healing power of returning to the ancient paths and spending as much time in God’s creation with our children as possible.Healing must happen in tandem with mother and child together, this is so crucial. Michaela discusses why mindset has been absolutely crucial for her in this healing journey and why it is so important as Phase One in the ‘Autism Turnaround Course’.
