Robb Neal is a man of resilience and determination, born and raised in a town where sports were the main pastime, Robb developed a passion for ice hockey during his high school years. However, his journey took a detour when he found himself involved in the distribution of marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy and was detained for drug possession on his twenty-first birthday which culminated in a three-year prison sentence, during which he noticed the lack of education and support for young inmates. This realization led him to enroll at Ashland University and tutor fellow inmates. Robb’s experiences shaped his perspective on youth involvement in crime. After graduating cum laude in December 2021, he decided to take action. In September 2022, he founded The Work House, a facility aimed at keeping the children of Columbus safe and engaged in personal growth programs. The Work House, named after the local jail, symbolizes the struggle or “work” to survive. Robb’s goal is to raise $50,000 through merchandise sales to rent a warehouse for after-school programs. These programs will focus on health, nutrition, and school sports training, providing a positive and supportive environment for the youth of Columbus.
