Man shot dead in targeted Merrylands unit attack

A man in his 40s was fatally shot inside his unit in Newman Street near Merrylands at approximately 6:30am on 10 January. Police from Cumberland Police Area Command, assisted by Homicide Unit detectives, are treating the shooting as a targeted attack rather than random violence.
