The Goldstone report – on April 2011 the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission published its conclusions on the 2009 Gaza Conflict. Israel and its allies were shocked and outraged, but help came from an unexpected source: an Ex- British Colonel, who fought in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Balkans who refused to toe the line. A-symmetrical warfare, the role civilians play as "human shields" in a terrorist organization's strategy. The relatively far-reaching measures taken by Israel to avoid civilian casualties and what that could mean for other democratic countries and their military interests in similar situations. As well as the political element distorting the discourse about these issues.  Col. Kemp's objections had played a significant role in Goldstone's eventual retraction, and he since became a powerful voice in the battle for truth in both the UK and the international arena.
